Research Interests
I conducted my PhD research on the effects of oxidative stress in Nematostella vectensis. Oxidative stress response has major implications for studies on how other cnidarians, particularly corals, will withstand the impacts of climate change. Building upon my prior experience, I am currently integrating my knowledge in biology into public health research. My recent work focuses on neuropsychiatric disorders and stress responses among pregnant and postpartum women. As the senior program coordinator for the Multidisciplinary International Research Training (MIRT/MHIRT) Program, I have the opportunity to be involved in collaborations with our faculty, student fellows, and international research partners. The MIRT Program gives underrepresented undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to participate in public health research in global settings.
