Research interests

Carolyn is a second-year master’s student of bioethics at Harvard Medical School. She was born in Miami, Florida in a Nicaraguan-American family and grew up appreciating Miami’s diverse ecology, training in classical ballet, and learning in Miami Dade County’s public schools. Carolyn attended Carleton College for her BA, focusing her studies on philosophy and cognitive science. Upon graduating, she worked in Minneapolis in the arts and in clinical trials in the field of addiction medicine. She is working with the GRAPE team on her capstone project, which will use qualitative data on Peruvian teen mothers to examine bioethical issues in global maternal mental health.
